| BIG BOYS
TOYS |
| These pictures are from our Big Boys Toys stand in Auckland. This
gave us an opportunity to display our new exciting products, such as the
Roof Mount DVD Combo unit and the 22" TFT screen with built-in DVD - it measures
60mm thick.
Many thanks to Mitsubishi Motors NZ Ltd, Walton Special Vehicles Ltd
and Mike who loaned us his Honda with 8 Lanzar VBR124 12" Sub Woofers - this
car is MEAN! Apologies to the show organisers for the noise! This is the
first time Eurovox product has been on display in New Zealand. Their display
VW vehicle from Australia attracted thousands with its DVD TVReverse Camera
display and Nintendo Play Station. The record was 12 children in the VW Beetle
at one time.

At a glance |

To encourage the use of Capacitors we have recently installed some on
comparators. A cap acts like a power storage bank and helps filter sound
in power lines. The sound quality improvement is amazing. |
Advance copies of the 2004 catalogues for Lanzar, Pyle, Pyramid, Legacy and
Blitz have all arrived. Bulk copies will be available soon.
Check our Web page lanzar.html for the
Lanzar catalogue.

| Eurotech is
moving...
Eurotech is on the move - our warehouse has
burst its seams. In April, we move to new premises not far from where we
are now. The new building is nearly three times the size of the current warehouse
- details will be advised shortly. |

From the directors

David Maconaghie
David joined Eurotech in 2003, primarily to spearhead our Eurovox
OE initiatives. This area includes new vehicle radios, CDs and In Car
Entertainment Systems. The OE product is primarily designed for new car
manufacturers, although in some instances the manufacturer sanctions a direct
approach at franchise level. Sales have gained momentum at an alarming pace
as manufacturers recognise the significant benefits of having OE product
available instead of after market one fits all product.
David has a strong background in sales and marketing in the cycle
and marine industries coupled with considerable purchasing experience through
the Asia and Pacific area. He brings to Eurotech a depth of experience and
professionalism required to present the type and quality of product he
sells.
"I enjoy the challenge of succeeding and then performing with new
accounts. I know I am selling a first class product that will not let me
down and I have a strong support team of professionals." |
Warehouse

Brian Williams
After nine years with our company Brian Williams, our warehouse manager,
is one of the oldest identities at Eurotech. He commenced when the business
was part of Autex Industries and the company's main presence was associated
with after market seatbelts for the Compliance Industry.
Brian arrived from the United Kingdom in 1988 and became involved
in the manufacture of automotive and industrial seatbelts with the Swedish
company Autoliv. He joined Autex in 1995 bringing with him a wealth of knowledge
and expertise in the seatbelt market. Eurotech has evolved more into car
audio and entertainment and Brian's knowledge base has shifted to accommodate
changes.
"I like to treat the Warehouse as my own domain and maintain my own
standards of tidiness and cleanliness. As Eurotech has grown particularly
in the last two to three years, increases in stock levels has made this task
increasingly difficult. I am looking forward to the moving to the new premises
and the opportunity to reset the standards."
In his leisure-time, Brian enjoys fitness training combined with the
occasional visit back to the UK. From the company's point of view, his fitness
contributes significantly to his work performance. |
Helpful Hints |
| Power Line
Capacitors
A capacitor is a reserve power source from which an amplifier can
rapidly draw power when it needs it. A capacitor at the amplifier will try
to stablise the voltage level and reduce line drop at the amp dumping current
into the amp as needed.
Installation
Before installing a cap everything possible needs to be done to reduce
voltage drop between the battery and the amp. The cap should be wired close
to the amp using the gauge wire appropriate for the cap.
Choosing the right
Capacitor
The commonly accepted rule of thumb for determining capacitor size
is one farrad per kilowatt of amp power e.g. 500 watts would need .50 farrad
capacitor. Choose a cap with a working voltage rating of 20-24 volts.
Another factor is temperature rating. Power line caps have a temperature
rating from 85°C to 105°C. A cap with a high temperature rating
has a larger lifespan. We recommend a temperature rating of at least
95°C. |
